Portfolio of Work

This poem was written in the 2018 fall semester. The poem was a part of an essay analyzing rewriting a poem of our choice. I was inspired by Gertrude Stein's poem Piece of Coffee; part of her book Tender buttons. I rewrote the poem into my style and made the poem longer. In 2018 I self-published my first poetry book, Soul Searching on Amazon, however, this poem is featured in my second self-published poetry book, Losing Focus. This poem will showcase my love for poetry and my dream job of being a poetry and children’s book author.
